Green River Fishing Report
June 25, 2004
Green River, near Pinedale, WY
Flows on the Green have still been jumping around, but we feel that runoff is just about over with. On June 25 it is flowing 1100cfs at Warren Bridge and been dropping steadily all week. The Fishing has picked up considerably. There are a few Salmonflies still fluttering around, but it’s been the Gray Drakes and Little Yellow Sallys that the trout have been giving their attention to. Also beginning to make an occasional appearance are the Golden Stones. For us, Gray Drakes Cripples and Parachute Yellow Sallys have been perpetuating that attention, and don’t overlook a Power Ant. JJ Specials, Tui Chubs, Flash Fry, and McCune Sculpins have been good streamer patterns.
Even though June has been relatively wet, we are still predicting flows on the Green to flatten out earlier than normal. So if you are planning on fishing the Green this year, take this into consideration.
Until next time,
Howard Cole
