Green River Fishing Report
June 14, 2004
As we mentioned in our last report, the Green River near Pinedale started fishing earlier than normal this year. But since that last report, there have been significant changes to the Upper Green. The last two weeks of May brought us very cool, wet weather. Then the first week of June, the weather pattern changed completely. Temperatures went soaring into the high seventies and low eighties. In the last week flows have increased dramatically. Last Thursday, the 3rd, the Green was flowing a little under 450cfs and this morning, the 9th, it is over 1800cfs. With these factors, we now have had to rearrange the fishing timetable of the Upper Green. Though these current conditions will set things back a bit from our original thinking, due to the area’s low snow pack we are not expecting them to last for long. We anticipate to be fishing the river again in the next week or two. You can keep an eye on the flows by clicking on Regional Water Flows in the Current Fly Fishing Conditions section of our website.
Until next time,
Howard Cole
